London is not just about high street shopping, flagship stores and major brands. There is a thriving independent shopping scene spread across the city. From its street markets to stalls there is plenty of shopping options at budget-friendly prices too.

If shopping is what you enjoy a visit to London is a must on your next holiday. Select to stay in accommodation in the heart of the city like the Park Grand Central Hotel in Paddington London and you will be close to some of the best shopping spots in town.

Camden is one such location to shop for the best of vintage items and is also the best spot to grab some great bargains. A cool place to hang out and browse or shop when in the area!

Some of the best places to visit in Camden include:

Primrose Hill:

Primrose Hill

London has quite a few places that offer excellent vantage points to the city. Located near Regent’s Park is Primrose Hill that is renowned for some of the most amazing views across central London. It is also a great place to catch a glimpse at some celebrity or the other in the neighbourhood. With Kate Moss, Jamie Oliver and Gwyneth Paltrow having homes in the vicinity, there is a good chance of spotting a famous face or two on a sunny afternoon. When David Beckham is in town he is another frequent visitor in the area. So whether you want the best views of the city or just an excuse to do spot a celebrity, Primrose Hill is the place to visit.

Take a cruise on the canal:

Regent’s Canal

One of the most enjoyable ways to take in the sights of Camden is to take a ride by boat on Regent’s Canal. It is one of the more historic canals of the city and passes through the incredibly beautiful Regent’s Park. There are rides conducted on authentic narrow boats, which were once in use to transport cargo across the canal. The rides are accompanied by local guides that fill in the guests on the boat about the history of the spots that they visit along the trip.

The Roundhouse:

If you are a music lover then a visit to the Roundhouse is definitely on the cards. Its unique location in a former rail engine shed along with its illustrious musical lineage makes it one of the most iconic music venues in the city. It has had major names like Patti Smith and the Doors perform here along with newer music acts like One Direction and Jay Z. Just remember it is not a place where you show up and buy your tickets on arrival. It is better to book your tickets in advance to avoid any disappointment.

The Hawley Arms:

One of the best pubs in Camden, a favourite of the late Amy Winehouse, The Hawley Arms is a great place to visit and have a pint or two of excellent beer or ale. The place is popular with celebrities that drop in on a regular basis along with hipsters that patronise the venue. While celebrities do make the place an attractive place to pop in for a drink it is more about the great live music and atmosphere. An added bonus is their fabulous jukebox!
