Late into the autumn this year, visitors in London will have the opportunity to take part in the Peter Pan Cup in Hyde Park. With the London hotel special offers you can stay in the city for far less than you imagine. The Christmas day race is only open to members of the Serpentine Swimming club – so we’re not inviting you to participate. Rather, we invite you to watch the day in full flurry as participants swim across the 100 yard range freezing water.
The Park Grand Paddington Court London accommodation is found by the majestic Hyde Park and lets you take advantage of this event with ease. Swimmers have met for the event since 1864, so the event is obviously steeped with a lot of history. Temperatures of the waters usually fall behind four degrees. Naturally, the race on the 25th December requires a lot of training. Spectators can watch from the south bank of the lake, close to the Serpentine Lake. During this time, WinterWonder Land will also be opening, so this is a good chance to take advantage of that.
It will be starting on the 20th November 2015, lasting till the 3rd January 2016. The Park will be transformed into something else entirely. Circus shows, a giant wheel, Ice skating, the Ice Kingdom, and the Bar Ice will be the main facets of the Winter Wonderland. There will also be rides, funhouses, Christmas markets and great street food – with crepes and waffles. Tickets are already on sale, and the venue will be open from 10AM to 10PM daily.
Entry to WinderWonderland is free, but you want to have access to the Ski Zillertal Ice Rink, the Magical Ice Kingdom, you’ll have to pay for the tickets. The Zippos Christmas Circus and the Cirque Berserk are also venues you will have to pay to visit. Christmas in London just wouldn’t be the same without a trip to Oxford Street and Hyde Park’s Winter WonderLand. The festive spirit really takes centre stage here, with the bright lights, and festive mood clear to see. German sweets and mulled wine will also be on offer.
Book your accommodation at Hyde Park’s hotel to have an exceptional Christmas in London.
